The monochromatic color scheme uses variations in lightness and saturation of a single color. This scheme looks clean and elegant. Monochromatic colors go well together, producing a soothing effect. The monochromatic scheme is very easy on the eyes, especially with blue or green hues.
Its hard to do a good room with a monochromatic color scheme. You have to layer by using different shades of a color, pattern, texture to create something exciting. This color scheme is great for a space to feel tranquil. Use the color of your choice with the neutrals. That way things don’t get too monotonous.

Window treatment also becomes a major part of this room as the designer is trying to layer pattern & fabrics.

Love the look & feel of this room. Pictures courtesy of Verandah magazine. Window treatment literally makes this room. The designer has used the same colors as the upholstered bed to keep the room tranquil.

Window treatment becomes the star & the focal point in this room. I love using cornices & top treatments along with the side panels.
